Background

The Client company is a financial organization that provides financial planning and management services to its clients. They were facing issues with their existing financial data grid tool, which was unable to meet their needs for editing financial data, making forecasts, and performing predictive analysis. They were looking for a custom solution that could improve their financial planning process, streamline their financial data management, and provide better insights into their financial data.

Objective

The objective of the project was to develop a custom financial data grid control that could allow users to edit financial data and perform forecasting, and predictive analysis. The solution should be integrated into the existing Power Apps application and leverage Microsoft's Dataverse as the primary data source.

Requirements & Scope

The scope of the project included designing a financial data grid control that could meet the following requirements:

Editing financial data – The solution should allow users to edit financial data in a user-friendly interface.
Forecasting – The solution should provide users with the ability to perform forecasting and predict future financial outcomes based on historical data.
Predictive analysis – The solution should include custom predictive algorithms that can analyze financial data and provide insights into future financial trends.
Integration – The solution should be seamlessly integrated into the existing Power Apps application.
Security – The solution should ensure the security of sensitive financial data.

Solution

To address these requirements, we developed a custom financial data grid control using TypeScript and React.js. The control was integrated into the existing Power Apps application and leveraged Microsoft's Dataverse as the primary data source.

The financial data grid control was designed to be user-friendly, allowing users to edit financial data with ease. It also included forecasting and predictive analysis capabilities, utilizing custom algorithms developed specifically for the client's financial planning needs.

The security of the financial data was ensured through Microsoft's Dataverse, which provided advanced security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or manipulation.

Results

After implementing the custom financial data grid control, the client was able to improve their financial planning process and streamline their financial data management. The solution provided better insights into their financial data, allowing for more informed decision-making.

The forecasting and predictive analytics capabilities of the solution allowed the client to predict future financial outcomes with greater accuracy. This helped them to identify potential financial risks and opportunities and make informed decisions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
